I am never certain whether a beached jellyfish is dead or not.

Considering it doesn't have brain, it's hard to say, yeah ... but I would say usually yes (can still sting).

My childhood experience of beaches were beached jellyfish and razor clam shells.

also how to tell others were at beaches on the oceans! I got mostly dead alewives, and the occasional dead seagull. Thus not wanting to be at the lake anymore!

Come to the Baltic Sea, no crabs, few jelly fish, no dead sea gulls.
